The Volkswagen Golf R is slated to receive a mid-cycle refresh later this year. Aside from the usual styling updates, it will join the rest of the facelifted Golf lineup in adding an improved 10.2-inch infotainment system with built-in AI, though it will sadly be losing its manual transmission as well. The newly-mandatory seven-speed automatic will likely be mated to the same turbocharged 2.0 liter inline-four engine as before.
