The Elantra joins its larger Sonata sibling in getting a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 model year, and while the Sonata goes for an edgier look this time around, the Elantra tones down its bold styling for the new model year. The changes are nearly invisible compared to what we've seen with the new Sonata, but that's not to say they aren't welcome.





Up front, the grille has been separated into two smaller sections, as opposed to the large, catfish-like grille that adorned the face of the previous Elantra. Flanking the cleaner grille area is a set of thinner headlights, which sit straighter below the hood line. Smaller changes include a lightly retouched rear fascia, flattened Hyundai badges, and updated front fenders. The 2024 Elantra also expands its color palette to include Amazon Gray, Ecotronic Gray, Ultimate Red, and Exotic Green, with the latter shade exclusive to the sportier N-Line.





The Elantra continues its slew of subtle changes inside, where eagle-eyed observers will notice softer front door panels, a new 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, three new USB-C ports, and a redesigned wireless charger. The facelifted sedan also gains new interior colors, and the Limited trim now includes H-Tex leather seating. An eight-speaker Bose premium sound system has been added to the N-Line and Limited trims, while the remaining Elantra models include a six-speaker setup, along with a newly standard WiFi hotspot.


Safety gets some attention as well, with new rear side airbags and rear seatbelt reminders now standard on all trims. The steering wheel also adds haptic feedback for the Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Warning, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist alert systems. The high-end Limited trim adds even more standard equipment, including a Surround View Monitor, Blind-Spot View Monitor, and a park distance alert for both forward and reverse.



Continuing to top the lineup for 2024 is the high-performance Elantra N, which also receives a new front fascia, updated side sills, and 19-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Some other exclusive updates for the model include a dual-pipe exhaust system, a new rear spoiler, and reinforcements to the G bushing and engine mount membrane.


The Elantra's engine lineup continues to include turbocharged and hybridized 1.6-liter engines, along with a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter engine and a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine for the Elantra N.


The 2024 Elantra will begin arriving at dealers in fall 2023, with pricing set to be announced closer to launch.
