Hyundai's edgy new Santa Fe is finally hitting dealers, but the bold new styling and extra row of seats has pushed the SUV's starting price well beyond the $30,000 mark. Whereas last year's model presented great value at $28,750, this year's model carries a price tag of $35,345 for the entry-level SE model. Pricing for hybrid variants starts at $38,345 with the SEL Hybrid.

This $5,260 bump in price comes as no surprise, as the 2024 Santa Fe offers far more than its predecessor. Its stretched body allows for the return of a third-row seat, and turbocharged engines now come standard under the hood. And while buyers will have to splurge a bit more for this new generation, it is worth noting that the top-of-the-line Calligraphy model begins at $47,895, so all variants of the SUV still undercut $50,000––before the options box gets involved, at least.

Models equipped with the standard turbocharged 2.5 liter inline-four, which sends 277 hp to the front wheels through an eight-speed DCT automatic transmission, include the base SE ($35,345), SEL ($37,845), Limited ($44,745), and Calligraphy ($47,895). All-wheel drive is optional, tacking on an extra $1,800, though the rugged XRT variant comes standard with it, and costs $41,995.

Hybrid models are a tad more expensive, with the SEL opening things up at $38,345, followed by the Limited ($45,245) and Calligraphy ($48,395). Just like pure gas models, all Santa Fe hybrid models come with front-wheel drive as standard, while offering all-wheel drive as a $1,800 option.

Non-hybrid Santa Fe models are making their way to U.S. dealers as we speak, though their respective hybrid variants won't arrive until the spring.

2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Gets Quite The Price Hike, Now Starts At $35,345

The increase is justified by third-row seating and newly-standard turbocharged engines.
