Buick has switched to an SUV-only menu in North America, which would leave the brand's current sedan owners in the dark when it comes time to replace their old Buicks. But while the brand has ditched sedans altogether, it still looks to keep those sedan customers loyal. The solution? Another SUV.

That's what Buick recently told Carscoops, referring to it latest crossover, the Envista. The brand thinks that with its couple-like profile and front-wheel drive layout, the Envista can easily win over sedan buyers. And Buick does have a point here, as the Envista does start at just $23,495. Meanwhile, the now-defunct Regal midsize sedan opened up at just over $25,000 during its final model year in 2020.

But it's not just the pricing that has the potential make the Envista enticing to sedan loyalists. Buick claims the Envista offers the versatility that makes SUVs so popular, while combining it with the "driving dynamics of a sedan."

Overall, Buick expects that the Envista will appeal to a wide range of buyers, attracting customers from both the crossover and sedan realms. Despite competing around the $25,000 mark, the brand says the Envista will offer buyers "unexpected upgrades" that can "surprise and delight in ways few vehicles can at [this] price point." It's worth noting that Buick's past models have mostly competed in the luxury segment, and with unusual niceties like a heated steering wheel on the options list, the mainstream Envista promises to be no less premium than its stablemates.

Buick Thinks The Envista Crossover Can Lure Its Sedan Customers

Buick now sells nothing but SUVs, but that doesn't mean it wants to lose sedan owners.
