In a move that we've seen plenty of times from GM before, Chevrolet intends to sell the old Traverse three-row alongside its newer successor under the Traverse Limited moniker. The redesigned version of the SUV won't begin arriving at dealers until early 2024, so the Limited version is likely here to keep production going until the new model arrives.
The Traverse Limited was first spotted by Driving.ca in the company's 2024 fleet order guide. The model will keep its entire array of trim levels, from the entry-level LS to the range-topping High Country, while featuring the same 3.6 liter V6 engine under the hood. U.S. customers will be able to choose between front- or all-wheel drive, though buyers in Canada will be limited to the latter.
Car and Driver reached out to Chevy for insight on the availability of the Traverse Limited, to which the brand responded that the SUV will be "available for a short period." It appears that the model will disappear once production of the newly-redesigned Traverse goes into full swing.
Pricing for either 2024 Traverse isn't out yet, but we expect the Limited to deeply undercut the price of the new model. The current 2023 SUV begins at $45,179. For those who will find themselves choosing between the two Traverses, the redesigned version will offer a punchier 2.5 liter turbo-four, boxier looks, and an overhauled interior with major tech upgrades, while the cheaper Limited brings last year's looks but with comparable amounts of space.
