One of the fastest-growing markets in the EV space is the pickup truck, as automakers new and old race to attract buyers to a new type of truck. For example, the Ford F-150 Lightning can power your home, the GMC Hummer EV can drive sideways, and the Rivian R1T offers a retractable mini kitchen. Many have been wondering what Ram has been doing as of late, as its biggest competitors show off these amazing EVs practically every day.
With the help of Stellantis and its major EV push, Ram is looking to develop a different type of pickup for a changing world. Two dark teaser sketches have been released at the Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 event, showing a very muscular and futuristic Ram 1500 EV. It will be Ram's first all-electric model when it arrives in 2024, leading the way for the rest of the lineup to go fully electric by 2030.
2024 is a very late release date compared to the rest of the competition, but Ram says that it is constantly revising the 1500 EV to stay consistent with other electric trucks. Who knows; maybe the Ram will be able to charge your home and drive sideways too. In other words, being the last contender to reach the market could actually end up benefitting Ram.
Would you wait a few years to get this Ram instead of something else?
