GMC HUMMER EV Pickup Starts Production At Factory ZERO

The first GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 trucks have rolled off the assembly line, marking the start of customer deliveries this month. These units are the first vehicles to be produced at GM's Factory ZERO facility, and the first of many different GM EVs that will use the revolutionary Ultium architecture in the coming years.

“We brought this truck to market with speed and agility and brought GM another step closer to an all-electric future. With our Ultium Platform as the foundation for a broad range of applications, the GMC HUMMER EV offers our customers the ultimate in capability and performance,” says GM President Mark Reuss.

The Hummer Edition 1 is priced at $110,295, with 1,000 horsepower and around 11,500 pound-feet of torque. It comes with numerous cool features, including Crab Walk, an adaptive air suspension, Watts to Freedom launch mode, and the latest iteration of Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving. If you wanted a GMC Hummer EV Edition 1, it's already been sold out, since it is a limited-production launch model. Cheaper trim levels with fewer features and less output will be introduced later on, and reservations are now open for those models.

Production of the GMC Hummer EV is a major milestone in GM's ambitious goal to an all-electric future. It also leads the way for other Ultium-based BEVs like the Cadillac Lyriq and all-electric Chevrolet Silverado.
