Gordon Murray Automotive, manufacturer of the T.33 and T.50 supercars, will make its US debut at The Quail this weekend. The automaker will be displaying both models at the event on August 19th, alongside a press conference that will be held with none other than Gordon Murray and GMA Group chief executive Phillip Lee.
The company will also have a presence at Laguna Seca on August 20th, where four-time IndyCar Series and three-time Indy 500 champion Dario Franchitti will get behind the wheel of a Duckhams Ford TM from Gordon Murray Heritage.
GMA's gateway onto US soil will be the opening of a new Gordon Murray Automotive Center in Florida, which was announced earlier this week. "We are incredibly excited to officially launch Gordon Murray Automotive in America and announce the Gordon Murray Automotive Center for the North American market,” said chief executive Phillip Lee. “Monterey Car Week is the ultimate event to communicate such an important milestone for our company.”
We don't know exactly how many T.50 or T.33 units were reserved by US customers, but Gordon Murray Automotive will likely do very well here in the States. The second addition to GMA's lineup was the T.33, revealed earlier this year. It uses a detuned version of the flagship T.50's 3.9 liter V12, making 606 hp and 333 lb-ft of torque.
