After so many years of owning gas-powered cars, many buyers are hesitant to purchase an EV for several reasons. One of them is the completely different mechanism behind the electric car, which could potentially lead to confusion at the shop. Lucid wants to change that with its new Tech Talks series on YouTube, which helps viewers to better understand how EVs work.
The series will include ten episodes, with each involving an important component in the ground-breaking Lucid Air sedan, which is in fact our 2022 EV of The Year. These subjects will range from aerodynamics to body structure, which are just a few examples of the Air's great attention to detail for every aspect of the car. Each episode will feature a different host, with the first being Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson, a former Tesla engineer. In the 36-minute series premiere, Rawlinson thoroughly explains the Air's battery pack, which is a prominent part of an EV's powertrain. The video also touches on how the battery is able to achieve the Air's Tesla-beating range and performance.
The series' focus on the Lucid Air's major parts may have some viewers thinking that these videos are meant for mechanics, but Rawlinson clearly states that the purpose of Tech Talks is to teach the general public about electric cars, and how they will get you from point a to point b without emissions.
