Next-Gen BMW M2 Rumored For October Debut

An all-new M2 based on the latest 2 Series coupe still has yet to arrive, but BMW won't leave us waiting for much longer. BMW Blog has uncovered the official reveal date from inside sources, which say that an unveiling is set for October 11th. Meanwhile, the media will get a chance to see the new sports car in full in September.

At launch, the new M2 will reportedly offer three new exterior colors aside from the rumored Zandvoort Blue. The updated palette might also include Toronto Red, Brooklyn Gray and Black Sapphire.

In terms of powertrains, the M2 could mimic the bigger M4 with a real-wheel drive setup, as well as the choice of a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic. Even the engine will be the same with a 3.0 liter twin-turbo inline-six, though output will be tuned down to 450 horsepower (as opposed to the M4's 473 hp).

Production is expected to commence this winter, with deliveries starting early in 2023.

Are you hyped up for the next M2?
