The Lexus LX is the luxury automaker's oldest model to date, as it reaches a decade old. This large SUV been given extensive visual updates over the years, but its architecture and technology are showing their age. The LX is finally being redesigned, and we'll get to see the finished product on October 13th.
Lexus released a teaser image hinting at its bulky taillights, which are clearly inspired by the NX compact crossover. The new LX adds a '600' moniker replacing the old LX570, which means there will be an upgraded powertrain with more output. Since the next-generation model will be based on the latest Toyota Land Cruiser (which isn't coming to the US), its envied off-road skills should carry over to the plushier LX, which is great news for Toyota enthusiasts.
The smarter Lexus Interface touchscreen infotainment, which debuted on the 2022 NX, will show up on the LX600 too. We're expecting it to appear on a much larger screen, as the LX is in fact the brand's flagship vehicle. The NX's optional digital interior door handles should be found somewhere inside the 2022 LX, as well as an all-new rear entertainment system with Interface-inspired software. These luxurious new features are just our wild guesses, but we do think that the LX will be a much fancier take on the latest NX.
The all-new 2022 Lexus LX600 will make its world debut through a digital premiere, which will be available on Lexus' press website, as well as the company's YouTube channel. Remember to mark your calendars for October 13th at 12:30 pm ET.
Do you think the LX600 will be a good alternative to the forbidden Toyota Land Cruiser?
