Stellantis Introduces New Slogans For Its All-Electric Future

Stellantis has marked every July 8 as ‘EV Day,’ where all fourteen brands introduce their plans for embracing an all-electric future. This is similar to Tesla’s ‘Battery Day’ and GM’s latest CES presentation.

The world’s third largest automaker clearly has serious plans, as they are investing an entire $35.5 billion in electrification. Additionally, an electric Dodge muscle car debuting in 2024 has been teased, along with an electric variant of the Ram 1500 pickup, a revived Opel Manta EV, and an autonomous Jeep off-roader. Speaking of Opel, the automaker plans to go all-electric open Europe by 2028. Of course, if all of these cars are going to be EVs, the brands that must have new brand identities. Stellantis has revealed new mottos that may not be quite as serious as their other plans:

Abarth - ‘Heating Up People, But Not the Planet’

Alfa Romeo - ‘From 2024, Alfa Becomes Alfa e-Romeo’

Chrysler - ’Clean Technology for a New Generation of Families’

Citroen - ‘Citroen Electric: Well Being for All!’

Dodge - ’Tear Up the Streets… Not the Planet’

DS - ‘The Art of Travel, Magnified’

Fiat - ‘It’s Only Green When It’s Green for All’

Jeep - ‘Zero Emission Freedom’

Lancia - ‘The Most Elegant Way to Protect the Planet’

Maserati - ‘The Best in Performance Luxury, Electrified’

Opel & Vauxhall - ‘Green is the New Cool’

Peugeot - ‘Turning Sustainable Mobility into Quality Time’

Ram - ‘Built to Serve a Sustainable Planet

Commercial Cars - ‘The Global Leader in e-Commercial Vehicles’

Some of these mottos, like Chrysler’s, are believable, but we have to say that a select few of these slogans don‘t make much sense. Alfa Romeo and DS, we’re looking at you. Besides being a bit strange, Stellantis is definitely hinting at the purpose of all the different brands. They did state that electrification will give the automakers an opportunity to have separate personalities after all. We can already guess that Lancia will get back to being a luxury brand, and Stellantis might bring certain Lancia models to the US through Maserati or Alfa Romeo. Opel will likely serve as a retro-style brand focused towards younger buyers, and Chrysler will clearly be a family automaker, probably offering both minivans, crossovers, and hopefully a sedan or two. Other companies such as Abarth, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram already have their own identities, and that won’t change in the EV era.

Stellantis is joining other automakers like GM and Volkswagen in being a full-on electric company by the end of the decade, and we know that nothing can stop them from reaching their goal at this point, even if it leads to some silly mottos.
