The GMC Hummer EV SUT is almost here, with the first customer deliveries beginning this fall. In order to hold fans over before examples appear on the streets, GMC has released a video showing the Hummer in the insane Watts To Freedom launch mode. General Motors explained the concept at its lengthy CES presentation, we were only able to see the digital instrument cluster and realistic animations during that segment. In the video below, a real Hummer EV prototype with pre-production parts is finally shown at its top speed.
In this thirty-second video, the digital instrument cluster is seen preparing the driver for Watts To Freedom mode, when the prototype blasts off on empty pavement, quickly surpassing sixty miles per hour on the screen's speedometer. It just goes to show how quick the Hummer EV really is, with GMC stating that the SUT can go from zero to sixty in a mere three seconds.
In order to reach its top speed, the launch signals the Hummer's air suspension to lower by two inches. The Hummer's amazing technology makes such a speedy launch simple to operate, as the digital instrument cluster shows the driver exactly how to perform it. As we said before, customers will begin receiving their dream Hummer EV's this fall, so keep an eye out for this mighty EV soon.
