What Will Happen To The Kia Stinger After Its Current Generation?

Kia introduced the sporty Stinger performance fastback as a pleasant surprise in 2017, and since then, it has been loved by enthusiasts everywhere, ditching Kia's image as a boring brand. The Stinger introduced the GT performance sub-brand that has caught on to the K5, Forte and Soul. Kia doesn't want to stop there. The revised Cadenza, Sorento and Sedona, along with more EVs and the Niro, Sportage, Telluride, Rio, Seltos and luxurious K900, Kia is totally prepared for the shift to EVs and crossovers. So, with their sedans doing just as well, where does the Stinger stand?

Sales have been declining recently, and it almost got axed before its recent facelift. Thankfully, it survived this time, but will a next generation be profitable?

Every automaker is cutting costs, and most of them are discontinuing slow-selling vehicles. Kia seems to love the Stinger, and they seem to want to stick with it, but it might just be a one-generation image model, just like Buick's Cascada that left us last summer. The Stinger's new facelift upgrades the sedan from the performance vehicle to a premium performance vehicle, causing it to step into Cadenza territory. The Cadenza also just received a facelift and doesn't sell well either. So, that's out other theory. Is it a one-or-the-other situation where its either the Stinger or Cadenza that leaves the US?

It'll be a few years before the time comes for Kia to make their big decision. So, for now, enjoy the fastback while you can.
